A new year, a new brand for CMG

Turning the page on the calendar year coincides with a page turning for CMG. To kick off 2016, we are introducing our new brand, new website, and new(ish) name.

As a consulting firm of marketers for marketers, we know that you understand what a re-branding represents. This launch is the culmination of a lot of deep thought, strategic discussions, design arguments, and hard work. It’s the result of months spent working to articulate what CMG is all about, where we want to go, and how we can best serve our clients into the future.

We recently held a firm meeting at our Durham HQ. Sharing that day with us was Ed Carter, founder of the Carter Marketing Group—the seed from which today’s CMG sprouted. With ageless gusto, Ed shared stories about the founding of the firm and his experience as CMO and consultant for companies like British Telecom, MCI, and Sprint during the telecom and wireless booms. In 1998, Ed retired and passed the baton to our founding partners, Russ Lange and Rich Beatty.

As a result of our focus on delivering growth for clients, CMG has added many new clients in the past year. And to ensure we support our clients’ growing needs, we’ve added three new partners along with new consultants and staff. We are determined to keep this trend moving in the right direction. How? We have laid out our mission in this equation:

In other words, we are dedicated to providing strategy (Think), action (Do), and results (Move) that take our clients’ market results up and to the right. We sum it up in two words:  Potential Realized. For every project we take on—whether it’s agile marketing, go-to-market, pricing strategy, market analytics, or digital strategies—we do it all to help our clients discover, define, and reach their full market potential.

We state our mission as follows:  to help our clients better realize their market potential. We do this by invention. We develop strategic marketing practices that enable complex organizations to make better decisions and achieve their most ambitious goals. LogoInsightTileOur evolved brand represents this mission. The new logo is confident and straightforward, simple with just three letters: C-M-G. The arrow, making up the “G,” conveys the idea of growth, of moving results up and to the right. Always.
